This Trip was a Midweek Getaway which was much needed with no specific plans in place. From the warm smile on the other side of the initial phone call. To Ms.Heidi smile meeting her Face the day of arrival was so much more that a tired traveler could ask for. Ms. Heidi extended white glove treatment to my spouse and I, she treated us like we were part of the family. The room’s sky-view was phenomenal, it lacked nothing to be desired, including the room refrigerator, to the beds, cleanliness and other accommodating services. My spouse and I were there less than 24 hours but it was well worth it. It was a home away from home! We could not take in all the attractions in downtown Chicago but the people assisting us at the hotel and offering suggestions made a less than 24 hour stay, worthwhile. We will definitely stay again, if we happen to cross paths again. KUDOS to Heidi and staff, you are the best part of IHG!

The best thing about this hotel is its location. The room is ok. The furniture in the room is dated. It’s uncomfortable if you actually have to work on a laptop. There is a modern water machine in the hall that actually dispenses clean filtered water in a variety of forms (hot, cold, sparkling) which was my favorite thing about the hotel. There is zero security however, anyone can just walk in and piggyback a ride in the elevator. The lobby is absolutely gross. But the convenience factor makes up for these shortcomings.

Great Accessible Stay in a Prime Location I had a really smooth and comfortable experience at Voco Hotel Chicago. First and foremost, I want to highlight how truly accessible the room was. As someone who uses a wheelchair full-time, this is rare—and I was pleasantly surprised. The room design felt like it was actually created with accessibility in mind, not just patched in. There was plenty of turning space, the bed height was perfect, and the bathroom was fully accessible, with grab bars in all the right places, a proper roll-in shower, and space to maneuver. Major points for this. The location is excellent—super central, easy to get around, close to restaurants, shops, and Lake Michigan. Everything is within a short ride or roll. Only downside: the water pressure in the shower could definitely be improved. It’s not terrible, but for a hotel at this level, I’d expect a bit more power, especially for an accessible roll-in shower where water tends to spread more easily. Other than that, the staff were friendly and welcoming, the room was clean, stylish, and quiet, and check-in was a breeze. I’d absolutely stay again, and I highly recommend it for travelers with accessibility needs. They actually get it

I stayed at the voco hotel. The hotel was great except for breakfast. My girlfriend and I received breakfast coupons when we checked in. Saturday, when we were finishing breakfast, our server, Lorena, gave us our check and we gave her the breakfast coupons. She seemed very annoyed with the vouchers but accepted them. She returned with another check and demanded that we leave a tip. I told her the voucher stated that the tip was included. She said this was if we wanted to leave anything extra. This interaction felt very rude and unprofessional. I have never been to a restaurant where the servers demand that you leave a tip. Our server only visited our table once to give us juice and did not check on us until she gave us the check, at which point she became rude when we handed her the voucher. Why would I leave a tip for that? Unfortunately, this was not the only incident that occurred that morning with the servers. While we were passing the restaurant on our way out, I asked one of the servers, Juan, for a glass of water. He responded very rudely and sarcastically, asking if I was actually going to drink the water or not. When I told him that I was, he said, “if you are only going to take 1 or 2 sips and hand it back then I am not going to give it to you.” We were surprised by this and just pretended to laugh and I agreed to drink the whole glass of water. We found this whole interaction very rude, awkward and unprofessional.
