From the moment I arrived at the Timbrey Hotel, I felt welcomed. The front desk staff was warm, accommodating, and informative, and had me checked in right away. The room itself was beautiful—comfortable, well-appointed, and stocked with everything I needed. I especially appreciated the in-room coffee machine; the coffee was excellent and a great touch that made me feel taken care of. One highlight of my stay was heading up to the roof deck for a drink and some food. The food was delicious and well done, and the atmosphere on the roof was fantastic. A big shout-out to Jinx (the bartender) who made me an incredible Japanese gin martini—she was knowledgeable, friendly, and a true pleasure to talk with. Brunch the next morning on the roof deck was another standout—delicious and memorable, making it a great way to end the stay. While the location is near the Tenderloin, I never felt unsafe…for access to all parts of the city, it’s ideal. Overall, my stay at the Timbri Hotel was excellent from start to finish, and I look forward to coming back. Highly recommend!

Stayed 16-18 Oct and overall had a good experience. The hotel has a great, modern interior — USB-C charging ports by the bed were a nice touch, and the shower had excellent water pressure. Front desk service was efficient and friendly; they handled my pre-arrival parcels smoothly and luggage storage was done directly at the front desk, which made things easy. A few areas could be improved. The room didn’t have any ceiling lights, only wall lamps — not sure if that’s a design trend, but it does make the room feel dim at night (noticed the same at the Hilton Union Square). Also, the resort fee concept could be clearer — $49 per night is included in the total cost but worth noting for future guests. Location-wise, it’s still within the Tenderloin area, so do stay alert when heading out, especially after dark. That said, it’s within easy walking distance to Union Square, which is a plus. Overall, I appreciated the hotel’s modern feel and solid service. A comfortable and stylish stay with just a few quirks to be aware of.

I stayed here when it was still The Line about 1.5 year ago and you wouldn't think you could tell such a difference, but...well...it's clear that Hilton bought this property. Everything is just now...slightly worse. Don't get me wrong, it's generally fine if you want a sort of boutique vibe, but like Hilton clearly doesn't want to invest in what The Line designed this place to be and it's if you ever stayed here before. Everything is just sort of, and comically, not right. If you have a room facing the streets, it is loud. Nonstop loud. It was ignorable enough to sleep (as someone who's only lived in big cities) but someone was blaring music at 6:30a and if you need something restful, peaceful, this ain't it. The tubs are deep and clean and that's why I booked here. Otherwise, I don't know if I would recommend this hotel anymore. There are others that are in better areas that maybe aren't as new but at least you can walk outside. (I also had a disappointing situation where I paid for an upgrade to my room and walked in and the couch and bench by the bed were stained, couch coated in dog hair, human hairballs floating around the floor- enough so that I was peeling it off my socks- and it just felt grimy. I complained and they restored my original room reservation, but I wouldn't EVER upgrade here after that experience. New room was perfectly clean.)

The actual hotel is beautiful. The rooms are small with thin walls, but nice. The immediate and surrounding location is rough. Honestly couldn’t be worse from what we saw. It’s in/on the edge of the Tenderloin so the homeless population is dense with a lot of very obvious drug selling and use happening, violence, and generally uncomfortable behavior. They have security posted out front and both the entrance and elevator require key cards to access which certainly made a difference. The hotel also backs up to a venue that was understandably loud. The sound proofing for the rooms isn’t great so it was pretty loud. It’s kind of far from general attractions and isn’t in an area where you might safely or comfortably walk to destinations. We often Ubered to a safer area and walked or biked from there. Uber and Waymo won’t pick up or drop off right at the entrance of the hotel so you’ll have to wait on the corner where it’s a little sketchy. The advice we got from locals was to gtfo if we could, but to otherwise keep our heads on a swivel and try to mind our business. There was also an unexpected fee due at check in that was about $100 per day that wasn’t mentioned anywhere when we booked with a third party so that’s something to be mindful of.
