Nice resort, but expect some changes if you haven't been there for awhile. Stayed in a condo. Some of the outlets and blow dryer didnt work. There is no daily room service. One has to climb over a high dune and a large pipeline to get to the beach just to get pool towels. There is no beverage service on the beach and no vending machines. At the end of the island, there is a pool bar. Ordered a pina colada that tasted like cinnamon and strawberry. Would not buy another one. The Red Fish had good food and personal service. There are good restaurants near the resort with better food.

My family and I have been coming to South Seas on Captiva for over 40 years for our annual reunion. This place has always been a special tradition for us, but sadly, under the new ownership/management it has completely changed — and not for the better. The rules have become over-the-top and unreasonable. We’ve always night-fished off the dock (a highlight for our family of fishermen), and suddenly that’s no longer allowed. Staff members constantly “police” guests, making the atmosphere feel more like a prison than a vacation. Our 75-year-old grandfather, who comes here to fish, wasn’t allowed to use an umbrella for shade. He actually suffered heat stroke because of it. Over the years we met a lot of the staff, the guy at the pool has always been super nice, very helpful. But management is just awful. It’s not just our family — we’ve heard other guests and neighbors express the same frustration. What used to be a place full of joy and great memories now feels controlling and unwelcoming. Unless you enjoy being micromanaged on vacation I DO NOT recommend staying here anymore.
