*Updated review * After asking for a different room because of the awful noise from people coming in and out of the elevator, they put us in a better room with a pretty view of the Borghese gardens. After inspecting the room more, we realized this room was not only a better location but had extra amenities our other room did not have. The TV now has many options, including Chromecast, and there was body wash included in the shower. We don’t understand why we were put in a less nice room when we have had this booked for over a year using Costco Travel, and specified we were here for our honeymoon/anniversary. This is the only hotel that stuck us in a room like that. Our other accommodations in Italy have even upgraded our room because we specified we were here for our honeymoon/anniversary. They should consider giving the customers who have specified they are here for special occasions and reserved way on advance the better rooms. Usually, at other hotels I have stayed at, they will only put people using hotel points for free rooms/families/etc in the lower quality rooms, and reserve the nicer rooms with views and extra amenities for high profile guests. I would recommend they look into this because it was a little off putting, however, I’m very grateful I spoke up about the noise problem and have a much better experience with this new room. * We are here for our honeymoon and anniversary as a packaged trip with Costco travel. This is only my first day at this hotel and I’m not incredibly impressed. Our room was not ready at 3:40p, so we went up to enjoy lunch. Gabriele came up to find us and give us our key when it was ready who h was appreciated. Our bags were in our room when we arrived. I specifically made a note on every hotel that we are here for our honeymoon. Most other hotels have upgraded us or given us a more private room secluded from loud families. However this hotel put us in the room closest to the elevators, and the doors are not soundproof at all. My partner was very upset trying to take a nap after waking uphill from the bus station with our bags that we can hear everything in the hallway, above, and below us. The view is looking at the wall next to us, rather than the stunning view of the city. For a “luxury room” it is the most basic, small room we have had thus far on our trip. I did ask front desk to please switch us rooms to one away from the elevator and they asked me to come back in the morning to check what is available. Luckily, after asking a few times, we did receive a bottle of wine and fruit in the evening, not upon arrival as specified in our travel itinerary. There was no body wash available in the shower, instead there were two bottles of shampoo and one conditioner. The TV doesn’t have a lot of the channels some other hotels provide, not sure why but very minimal channels here. I was enjoying watching Food Network Italia which we don’t get here. Concierge has been helpful, Gabriele and Evan especially.

Nice, quiet boutique hotel. Rooms are luxurious and quiet. Marble is everywhere. Staff is polite and professional and very helpful. The seventh floor restaurant has stunning views of the city. Would book again. The place is also far enough from downtown Rome to be quiet, but still an easy walk. Near the Spanish Steps and Borghese Museum as well.

The Sofitel Villa Borghese provides an excellent location. Its in a quiet neighbourhood with some amazing restaurants within walking distance. We got a suite and found the room very spacious. The food at the hotel was OK. Breakfast is on the pricier side but definitely amazing view on the rooftop. Would definitely stay here again. Rooms were clean and comfy. Most staff were pretty pretty friendly as well.
