I booked an apartment with 2 bedrooms. The view from the room directly faces the sea and garden. Very beautiful in the morning while watching the sunrise. I checked in at night, and luckily I still found the reception, Ms.Savannah (after 9 pm they had left the location). The rooms here are quite clean, comfortable. But I think it's time to do a renovation. Parking can be on the side of the road in front of the hotel and there is also in the back building.

I've been staying at The Observatory in Port Macquarie since its opening, for both personal and work reasons, and each time I've found the suites and facilities to be exemplary, staff to be exceptional and services outstanding. It's my go-to accommodation when in the area. The view across to Town Beach is phenomenal, perfect to watch while relaxing with a cold beer and some prawns. There is a great little coffee joint on street level and a nice little Italian restaurant on hand. Walking distance to town, perfect location, what more could you ask for.

I stayed here one night on a trip from Queensland to Geelong. While the front office staff was friendly on checking in, the hotel is a very weird layout, with washing machines being located in common areas, these machines can be used anytime of day or night. Unfortunately this was located directly outside my room and was being used by my neighbours at 10.30pm which woke me up. I called and spoke with the after hours team who assured me that they would resolve it. I managed to get a few hours sleep until I was treated to my neighbours returning to their room loudly at 3.45am and the noise continued until 6am with loud voices, yelling and music being played. There are no staff on site overnight, so even though I called the after hours number (staffed by a very nice and helpful person) there was no one on site to do anything about it. A security guard was allegedly sent to check but I was informed that he attended and heard nothing. I have sound recordings on my phone of the noise levels so I know I wasn’t imagining it. The time was now 5.20am so I decided to just get up and have a shower, it was then that I discovered I had no hot water. Another call to the after hours number, and this time I got a call from the night manager. She suggested that I have a shower in the disabled toilet on the ground floor. I headed down and found the door was locked. Luckily I managed to unlock the door using the hard edge of my room card. So for $260 I got about 3 hours sleep & no hot water in my room. This was a deeply unpleasant stay. I could not in good conscience recommend anyone take the risk of staying here. You might get lucky and have no issues, but if anything happens in the hotel between 9pm and 7am, you are essentially on your own.
