I really enjoyed our stay here! The room was really nice and had everything we needed. Quiet floor too! Didn't hear any dogs barking and they allow dogs! The staff were super friendly and very helpful! The valet parking was a little hectic but you just park out front and they come to you. Be patient and it'll all work out! The hotel bar was great too! Bar tender was helpful and friendly and we went at a good time when it was quiet and got to enjoy the place! Would definitely stay there again!

I had an unforgettable stay at the Kimpton Palomar! The staff welcomed me with genuine warmth, making check-in a breeze and offering personalized touches throughout my visit. The rooms were a perfect blend of modern elegance and comfort, with plush bedding, sleek design, and thoughtful amenities like the in-room coffee and luxe bath products. The daily social hour with complimentary wine was a delightful way to unwind and connect with other guests. The hotel’s prime location made exploring nearby restaurants, shops, and attractions effortless. The on-site dining was exceptional, with fresh, flavorful dishes that elevated every meal. Every detail, from the spotless facilities to the outstanding service, screamed 5-star quality. I’m already looking forward to my next stay!

My husband and I had a positive experience here. We booked here for our hotel wedding block and hosted our post wedding brunch. Communication with the hotel was very good leading up to our wedding events and out guests had no issues with check in and getting pre-printed information cards to get to and from our wedding weekend events. We did request a few items to be in our room ahead of time and a few were not there when we checked in despite getting confirmation well in advance. Some of the items were there, however. I had to call the front desk a few times before we finally got everything we needed the night before my wedding. This was not ideal but in the end they were apologetic about a miscommunication and got us everything we needed promptly. The Presidential Suite and attached parlor were perfect for a bunch of us getting hair and makeup services and was spacious. It has 2 bathrooms and the master bath is stunning. The brunch was incredible with so many options for food and drinks. We were very impressed. Our guests loved the food. Check in and out was easy and the staff were very friendly. All in all this is a centrally located hotel, great staff, great for hotel blocks and weddings. We would absolutely use them again. Thanks Palomar team!

Sadly, our stay at the Kimpton Palomar was less than stellar. In summary, it did not live up to the Kimpton standard or name we have experienced at other Kimpton locations. First the pros - it is in a great location, I love that it is pet friendly (we did not travel with a dog however), the front desk staff was friendly, and the included social hour is a nice touch. The cons in a nutshell - while friendly, the service was subpar (more on that in a moment), the room was dirty and in need of maintenance and general upkeep, and the room was dark and had an odd layout. The curtains were tough to slide open and were tattered, ripped, and gross. The bed squeaked when we got in and out. There were gross possibly food fingerprints on the corner of the wall. Hair in the shower. Mildew. Back of the bathroom door had dripping stains. Carpet stains. Now, I have absolutely seen worse and dirtier hotel rooms, but I do not expect this level of filth in a Kimpton. The bed was missing all decorative accents - while I don't need these things, it does feel like it points to the complete lack of attention or care to detail that was displayed in the room. The service - we called for an extra pillow about an hour before leaving for dinner. Did not come, left for dinner. still wasn't there when we got back. Went down to the lobby and she would not hand me the pillow and said someone had to bring it up. I explained to her we had already requested one close to 5 hours ago and it never showed. She said she would expedite it. It did at least come this time - but took about a half hour (the time I would've expected the first time we asked for one). It was late and an extra annoyance that we had to wait to go to sleep for this pillow to arrive. I would not stay again nor recommend to others, there are better hotels in the area (and possibly cheaper).
