When we checked in, our air conditioning wasn’t working and living in Dubai, we struggle without it wherever in the world we go!! As the hotel is an older building, I do understand you may have these issues, but they did have a fan in the room which made it more comfortable. With the hotel being full, the lovely Elena tried to get us an alternative room but that also had a problem so we decided to find alternative arrangements. The level of customer service Elena and the team showed us was outstanding and also the girls on reception were excellent too. Very impressed.

Been visiting Brighton twice a year for over 25 years and this was our first stay at holiday inn. Was shocked to read some of the reviews because we could not fault our three night stay. The room was spotless and well maintained. The staff were exceptionally polite, friendly and very helpful. Very good choice for breakfast and dining area pleasant. We will definitely stay here again and will be looking to book later in the year.

Trying to be positive about our stay but it needs up grading, not what you expect from a four star hotel. Positives: Staff were very friendly and appeared to enjoy working in the different areas. Kate on reception, was very pleasant and looked after us as we arrived early, luggage stored and check-in was good. Bar staff in the Beech Bar were very nice and good inter reaction with the customers. Room 503 was clean, good size, looked like a new bathroom and bed was very comfortable. Negatives: Hotel reception area is okay and coffee shop looks brand new but, customers toilets were dated, not cleaned properly, shabby dirty carpets lead to the toilets on the first floor. Beech (sports) Bar, although nice staff it looks like it was an after thought. Partition (curtains) hide a kitchen area in the bar where breakfast set up appears to be stored, the entire bar lacks atmosphere due to design and unfinished work. Large TV's placed for guests to enjoy the sport on the TV's, there was also a bad smell from behind the bar probably from drains or dampness. Hotel in general could do with a total upgrade during the winter months. The pictures on the website are misleading, no outdoor furniture to sit outside yet lovely photos on the website.

Really disappointing stay. We stayed for one night and the room we were supposed to be in was unavailable due to being damaged the night before by previous guests. Staff were very helpful and gave us a few options, we had to accept another room as we were 3 hours away from home and had nowhere to stay for the night. We were moved into an 'executive room' which was far from it. The rooms are dated, beds and floors threadbare and stained. Hairs in the bath and just overall very poor cleaning quality. We were also given a coffee machine that wasn't able to plug into the socket so that was useless. I will say staff were very helpful and offered us a discount plus free breakfast however this didn't make up for the disappointing rooms. Location is perfect for anyone wishing to be near the seafront but it's a really dated holiday inn which isn't worth the price.
