Located in the middle of everything! Only 10 mins walking distance from Walker's Art gallery and World Museum. Everything is near his hotel. Great dining experience and pubs/ clubs(not that I am a party animal, not even but colleagues had great times). I used Spa facilities and really enjoyed it. After a stressful journey and hard day at work it was exactly what was needed. The spa is a little bit on the expensive side as - did I enjoy it? Yes! Was it worth £30,- for two hours? Hmmm Not Sure. Pitty Massage and other treatments are available only 10-5 , exactly working hours when one is away working hard. It would've been lovely to be able to enjoy a nice relaxing massage. Staff is so friendly and makes all experience really enjoyable! There is a restaurant/breakfast area but it is possible to order some nice food at the bar also. I was surprised with the lovely menu was put together at the bar also. About the room- I am used to fresh air, cool room and space. I stayed from Monday -Friday and shall say not one night I had a good sleep! Room design was beautiful but for me these high ceilings and massive chandelier over the bed was a little scary. At night it felt almost too quiet and isolated, Suppose one could get used to it however it probably wasn't for me. I was almost scared to go back to my room. But! I absolutely loved the breakfast and breakfast staff! I will definitely miss that!

Location and historical building We are happy with helpfully Alice, the front desk staff. She helps us to find the room that we like for our budget. The room is clean and has a good bed. The breakfast is too simple for a 5 star hotel. The spa is the worst. You have to play to take a relax in the sauna. So, the spa is not included. The large pendant lamp hangs right above the bed. I don’t feel safe there: what is that lamp falls?

All fur coat and no knickers is what I’d use to describe the Municipal. It looks good from the naked eye but delve deeper and flaws are obvious to see. Spa is charged at £59 per person, for a two hour pre-bookable slot. It consists of a pool, sauna, steam room, plunge bucket (not working on our visit) and about ten loungers. It’s certainly not worth the money. Rooms are nice, pillows soft and comfortable but for a 5 star hotel I’d expect more than just a kettle and coffee-bag. Especially when 3 star hotels from the same company include Nespresso machines. Bar is extortionately priced, and comfortably the worst pint of Guinness I consumed in the city to date. Staff don’t know how to pour it so pour it all in one go from a great height so you end up with a “bubbly” head. For the price you pay, and the extras they charge, it really isn’t worth it.
