After experiencing some hiccups during my first back in May, I decided to come back to give the hotel a second chance. Alba during my check in was very helpful and was very pleasant to welcome. She too her time explaining to me what I needed to know during my stay. It was the kind of service that I didn't receive during my first stay. Umut, the manager on duty who dealt with some minor issues I experienced, managed the issues very well. He listened to every point I was making, explained his side and then ensured that I would come back. I was very impressed with his professionalism throughout my stay. Special shoutout to Paul from Romm Service. He delivered my meals with a smile and always offered to assist me. I will come back again.

My mother, 8 month old baby and myself had a fantastic 3 night stay at the Sofitel Munich Bayerpost in April 2025. We secured an incredible rate through the Visa Infinite Luxury Hotel Collection program, which offered "3rd night free" and included many complimentary benefits such as "room upgrade if available", daily free breakfast for 2, early check-in/late check-out if requested and others. In addition, being a Accor silver member allowed us to order drinks with a limit of around 40 Euros per each adult per the reservation. CHILD-FRIENDLINESS rating: 5/5. My mission is to stay at hotels to rate how truly "family-friendly" it feels based on what the hotel advertises, and I can truly say this hotel is incredibly child-friendly and probably one of the best ones so far. (Personal opinion). They offer a free bath amenity kit for babies, along with a complimentary travel cot per request, and their breakfast station included a dedicated baby/toddler section which offered local German branded good quality fruit pouches, and snacks for the littles. The take-out coffee after breakfast is a nice touch because when you have littles, it's often challenging to sit for a long time at breakfast and "enjoy the coffee". So having it to go allows me to get my sips of coffee in outside the breakfast restaurant. In addition, they use Stokke Tripp Trapp chairs for baby/toddlers at their restaurant which if one doesn't know, it's one of the best brands of high chairs out there in the baby product market. Sofitel Munich Bayerpost is the pinnacle of child-friendliness. Will 100% stay again. Maggie @maggiexning

We really loved this hotel! It’s right next to the main train station, but totally quiet. Great service and lovely inside. The real standout for me, as someone who eats a plant based (vegan) diet, is the food! Breakfast was amazing, they have a full vegan section with more delicious options than I’ve ever seen in a hotel before. Dinner was great too. The only let down was the bed, which is more soft than I like it. I’ve definitely slept better elsewhere. However, that’s more my personal preference, with a dodgy back.

We arrived around 15 minutes before the official check in time and were told our room is not yet ready but if we would agree to pay for a room upgrade we could go in right away. Since we were drained from traveling we agreed to take the duplex suite. It sure left a bad taste that this might be a strategy to upsell. The view was nice since we could see the Oktoberfest rides. The suite had a toilet downstairs in addition to a full bathroom upstairs which was nice. The bathroom itself was small and the tiles on the wall everything but clean. I would even say crusty. The bidet did not work. There are no USB outlets of any type by the bed which should be the standards especially considering all the internal travelers. There is also no all lights off type of light switch. You have to go around and turn every light off by yourself which we of course did not find out about until in bed with some lights downstairs still on. The room in general is somewhat dated, the carpet is blotchy, the towels thin and small, the stairs are narrow and mind you the wardrobe is upstairs while our suitcase were dropped in the living area downstairs. Carrying up the suitcases was not really an option because of the narrow stairs and there was no space upstairs for more than just one suitcase. So I had to unpack downstairs and carry everything upstairs individually. Really nothing about the room feels 5 stars. The TV remote also did not work. We requested new batteries. They said they sent a technician up but the problem remained. Generally the streaming setup was a nightmare and would often not work. It’s airplay only. They don’t have a single streaming app. But the worst part of the stay was the lack of AC. Because of the big windows the sun heats up the room quite a bit and the bedroom is upstairs. For some sort of green policy they AC can only be set to 20 degrees and no colder. And since the heat rises it sure was warmer than that trough out the night which was miserable. As a solution they offered to put a fan in the bedroom. Due to the lack of outlets we then had to decided if we want to charge our phones overnight or use the fan. So we had to sleep in a hot bedroom with a noise fan on who was constantly in the way because the space really isn’t big. Again nothing about this stay was 5 star worthy. This was our second stop on a round trip and had to compare to another 5 star hotel where we also got a duplex suite for a comparable price and the Sofitel can’t measure up at all. At the other place the housekeeping was practically invisible and the rooms were immaculate. Here were those housekeeping trolleys always standing in the hallway for you to slalom around. We were regretful for getting the suite instead of a regular room because it was not worth it and we were glad when it was time to continue our vacation to its next destination. To also say something positive: The spa area is really nicely done. Very unique. I just wish it would be open until 10 instead of 9 so you can go for a dip after dinner. We had a bit of a weird encounter when walking into the spa. The employees were busy talking to each other so we just walked in bur got called back and had to fill out some paperwork first. I wonder why it has to be so bothersome when you are literally walking in in a hotel bathroom and scanning your card for excess. Long story short : we would not stay here again and won’t consider Sofitel if we can help it.
