Everyone is trained with good manners and care. The monkey bar is a great place for delicious food, quiet ambiance that is rare for conversation. Vandana and Hugo were exceptional hosts I will come back despite being 2 miles from the White House. Beautiful and historic property.

We stayed here for 8 nights so we definitely had a long enough stay to get a true feel for this hotel. It’s a stunningly beautiful property with amazing history and gorgeous garden area to explore. The location is fabulous! Just a block away from metro station, across from many great restaurant options and quick walk to zoo, Adams Morgan, and other great DC attractions. It’s a safe and very walkable area. The hotel itself is old and in need of serious update. The rooms have a very old smell and the a/c unit was so dusty it made my husband sick. Beds are decent but pillows were horrible. The bathroom is tiny. It’s nice that they provide water bottles. There is a very expensive option for dining on the property but the food was great. The elevators are very small and when there’s a large conference taking place, it’s very hard (long wait) to get a lift with the rude attendees who don’t want to share the elevator. The room itself was generally pretty quiet. Parking and fees were quite ridiculous in price. I honestly would have given this hotel a lower rating had it not been for the amazing staff. Every single person we encountered from front desk, bell hop, security, and housekeeping were all extremely helpful, pleasant, and went well out of their way to be accommodating and welcoming. This is also an EXTREMELY kid friendly hotel, which is very rare to find these days. They have an awesome kids play room to keep the little ones occupied. They provide goodie bags with snacks and items for kids when you check in, which was such a sweet and unexpected touch. The staff was constantly checking on our 2yo, greeting her and asking what they can do to help make her stay better. They even provided her meal on the house at breakfast. She loved running around the garden. One day she was having a meltdown and the staff member was so sweet and caring trying to help. I was so impressed by this and have never encountered anything like that anywhere else. That alone brought the rating way up for me and I cannot thank the staff enough for their empathy and kindness when it comes to our child and ALL children. Traveling with kids comes with challenges but hotels like this are really amazing for families.

I completely understand hotels have rules about cancellations, but I had a very ill animal at home and had to cancel my reservation 45 hours from check in time. It could not be helped. There was not any understanding on the hotel’s part. They made $358 off of me due to an illness and will more than likely sell the room to someone else and make more money. I won’t be staying at an Omni in the future due to the insensitivity. Very disappointed!
