We booked a family suite with interconnecting rooms which was in block c on the 7th floor for 9 nights in mid November . Rooms 748 and 746. We absolutely enjoyed everything about our stay, breakfast, staff, service and comfort was excellent. The staff were consistently polite, attentive and responsive to whatever we wanted. Our holiday was memorable and enjoyable in no small part due to the way movenpick suriwongse conducts it's business. A lovely quiet stay for us in the heart of busy Chang Klang road. Chocolate fountain and happy hour made a great end to our busy days. The room was clean and smelled fresh and the housekeeping each day was perfect.

Cant go wrong w it. Right at city center and access to night bazaars, massage centres, and F&B. Reasonably price. If you are into golf, there is golf coordinator which can arrange the golf games and transportation. I like it. Will stay here again when I visit next. Room is spacious and clean.

We had a nice stay at this hotel, but it felt like there were a few things missing, both in the hotel amenities and the service provided. We found the layout of the hotel confusing as half of the restaurants and bars are outside and not always directly accessible from within the hotel. We were not given any information upon check-in so had to find out ourselves where everything was or ask each time. The hotel lobby was quite grand and had large artwork and fish against the back wall which was impressive but I wasn't a fan of their empty aquarium with no stimulation for them.. For our room, we were lucky enough to be upgraded to a Junior Suite due to our status with Accor. The suite was spacious but felt very empty; there wasn't the furniture to fill the room and there was hardly any wardrobe space which was frustrating given the size. The bathroom was also in need of renovation; it was very basic and missing conditioner - disappointing for a four star hotel. For a large part of our stay, the hotel felt very quiet. Perhaps it was the season (we stayed end of October) but I reckon it meant they were more likely to close early. For example, one night we wanted to have a semi-late night snack at 10:30pm - despite the hotel bar being advertised as food, drinks and music until midnight, we were told the kitchen was closed. The hotel did eventually make other arrangements for us which we appreciated but this did not happen immediately and it was still a downer on our stay as we were relying on getting some food after a long day exploring the city. I would like to end by saying that all the staff were all very nice and the hotel has good bones and is located in and excellent area for enjoying Chiang Mai. With a few adjustments to the service offered to guests (e.g. more info at check-in), some additional training for hotel staff (e.g. how to resolve problems) and minor renovations to the rooms, this would be a nice comfortable place to stay.

Disappointing Stay at Mövenpick Chiang Mai – Not Worth the Brand We stayed from Monday to Saturday and, right from the start, the experience was underwhelming. There was no early check-in or late check-out available. Upon arrival, we were assigned a room in Block C, and it was immediately obvious that something was off. The room was damp and noticeably old. The air conditioning was extremely noisy, and the bathroom looked like it hadn’t been renovated in years. There were stains on the toilet paper cover and grimy residue around the bathroom—overall, it felt dirty and far below what you’d expect from the Mövenpick brand. It was genuinely unpleasant. After raising our concerns, the night-shift manager agreed to move us to another room, but only the next day. No refund, no credit, no gesture of goodwill—nothing. The new room in Block A was better: still just “okay,” but at least manageable, especially since our booking was non-refundable. We were told Block B is in the same condition as Block C, which says a lot. If you choose to stay here, avoid non-refundable bookings at all costs. And insist on a room in Block A, regardless of the room “grade,” because apparently the grades are mostly about layout, not quality. For the price we paid, we could have stayed in a much nicer hotel in the Nimman area at the same category—and likely had a far better experience. To make things worse, it was very noticeable that large bus tour groups were placed exclusively in Blocks B and C, meaning those blocks seem to be used as lower-tier accommodations. In short: stay away from Mövenpick Chiang Mai unless you’re willing to gamble your comfort and sleep. A very poor experience and definitely not worth the name Mövenpick.
