This is another great Mercure hotel and spa. (I have also been to the one in Daisen.) The rooms are very spacious and quiet and the outside spa is really beautiful, particularly at night. The lounge is great, a really nice way to meet up with other family members and chat with other guests. It also has free drinks, with lots of different sake to taste! We took the half-board option which has a lot of variety and is very high quality. There are also so many things to do in the area. We will definitely go again!

I went with my husband and my sister and our mom. Everyone enjoyed the stay. This hotel has been around long time but recently renovated lobby and hot spring and lounge etc. we love the room with ocean view. view was superbe. We booked half board which includes breakfast buffet and dinner buffet plus welcome drink lounge with sake and beer plus night cap! Dinner buffet includes wine, sake beer and food option was very international. there was bonito fish sashimi, and beef casserole. my family is a local but my husband is from U.S. there were plenty of option to choose from. If you are drinker this place is a bargain! only down side is there was no coffee available in the room. It is our habit to have a cup of coffee in the morning before breakfast. It would have been nice to have instant coffee in the room. They just had a green tea bag in the room. Welcome lounge is open in certain hour in afternoon, I wished they open in the morning to get a cup of coffee available. You can though go to the restaurant to get a to go coffee for the room. but you need to ask wait stuff for the to go cup. over all we were really happy with place. buffet seems to atract locals so there was a line in the morning and evening when they just open. everyone is trying to get a window seat I presume. very pretty sunset view from restaurant. we drove but there is a nishibun station maybe 10 minutes walk up the hills.

Our stay here was generally good. The hotel is located approximately 30 mins from the city on the coast. We had lovely views over the ocean. The rooms are very generous in size and the service from the staff is excellent. You can enjoy complimentary Beer, sparkling wine, and Sake plus snacks between 3pm and 6pm in the guest lounge and again between 9pm and 11pm (not sure exactly what the later session involved as we didn't do it) but this is a great benefit, especially if you enjoy a drink. Breakfast was good with lots of Japanese and Western dishes. The negatives were- the hotel is very dated but has the potential to be something really special if it was renovated. The buffet dinner seemed a bit overpriced, and although there were Western choices, there were definitely more Japanese dishes. Dinner did, however, include unlimited alcohol, which again is a big plus. One more thing to note is that the beds were quite comfortable, which is quite rare in Japanese hotels. All in all, it was not great value for money compared to some other hotels we have stayed in, having said that though, we would definitely choose to stay there again if we visit Kochi in the future.

Free drinks which is a plus for drinkers, including some very nice sake! The onsen bath is quite big as well. Overall a very pleasant stay. 👍
