The room was fantastic - super clean, modern, and the bed was so comfy. The location is also a huge advantage, very close to the Metro and Shopping Mall.

Fantastic place to stay in Kaohsiung. Very new and clean, vibe the high class vibes. The hotel was staff were very friendly and professional. The gym had more machines and slightly bigger, similar to the pool area. Location wise was Close to public transport and right across to a mall, pretty much walking distant to the famous Love Pier. All in all it was great for my longgg stay and recommended!

We happened to stay at the InterContinental Kaohsiung. The experience was terrible. We had moved from another hotel, and since Taiwan generally requires an 11:00 check-out, we checked in at 12:00, so we were understandably unavailable for the room。 However, when we returned at 3:00, we saw many guests who had arrived after us already had their rooms assigned, while we were left out and not even offered a welcome drink. Only after repeated requests did we finally get a room. The room was large, with a nice view and pleasant decor. However, there was dust in many corners, such as the lamp. There were also hair from the previous guest in the drawers. The marble in the bathroom wasn't well-finished, with water stains from construction work in many areas. The drink coupons were only provided after check-in. Breakfast was also served in the lobby, which was very crowded. The experience was average, and the food was not very tasty. We found a hair in our porridge, but my partner didn't want to bother the busy waiters, so we didn't raise the issue. The way to the pool was like a maze and the AC was on full blast so it was easy to catch a cold.Apart from that, we were very satisfied with the room facilities, especially the smart features. The mattress and pillows were very comfortable.

I stayed with my partner at InterContinental Kaohsiung to celebrate a special day. As Diamond and Ambassador members, we have experienced InterContinental service in different countries. At the moment, Taiwan has two InterContinental hotels: in Taichung and Kaohsiung. We wanted to visit a farther city for this occasion, but after this stay, we felt some regret. Maybe Taichung would have been the better choice. Good points: 1. Housekeeping staff cleaned the room very well. 2. In the Club Lounge, Ms. Lee (short hair) was very kind and thoughtful. Mr. Owen also gave very good service. 3. The staff at the first-floor bakery were very kind and friendly. Disappointing points: 1. The room had a very strong mold smell, probably from the air-conditioning system. Even when the hotel gave us an air purifier, it did not help. The smell made me feel dizzy in the room. 2. Because it was the weekend, the hotel was very busy. We are Diamond and Ambassador members. At check-in, staff said they could only upgrade us to a high floor. My partner even asked again, “Is this really a high floor room?” The staff confirmed and said, “It’s a Harbour View High Floor Room.” But in this hotel, high floors start from the 11th floor, and our room was on the 10th floor. We can understand the hotel was full, but using this kind of wording to explain made us feel the hotel was not honest. 3. At check-out, the bill included charges for the minibar. On the first day, we had already asked housekeeping to remove the drinks, because we brought our own wine to celebrate. My partner noticed the wrong charge and asked to correct it, but after the earlier experience, this added more doubt about the honesty of the hotel. 4. At breakfast, the lady at the reception desk on the first floor was rude. We were surprised that this is the service standard of InterContinental. On the second day, we chose to have breakfast in the Club Lounge instead. At least the lounge was more quiet and comfortable. 5. The quality of food at both breakfast and the lounge was poor. If a guest had to pay extra for these meals, I would feel sorry for them. The hotel also served some Taiwanese dishes, but if this was my first “Taiwanese flavor” as a foreign visitor, I might not want to try real local food outside later.
