I loved the hotel. Its one of my favourite. Talk about historical building, classic and castle. The room so spacious and we had chance to got to early check in. Dinning room was so fancy and food was great. Swimming pool and sauna available

Stayed overnight at the Fairmont Hotel Macdonald after a recent work event at the hotel. It was great, as an Edmontonian, I hadn't stayed there since they completed the renovation so it was nice to check it out. The rooms and service are perfect, comfortable and very nice. Went for a walk in the river valley, the hotel is in a convenient location to explore the trails.

Overwhelming when everyone is smiling it feels very fake, pretending to be extremely happy. A fine balance between sincere and genuine will serve the guests better. This place will bankrupt you with their prices unless your are extremely wealthy!

We’ve always enjoyed the Confederation Lounge at Hotel Macdonald, but our last visit was extremely disappointing. The 35-minute wait for a table was understandable given how busy it was, but once seated, we sat for nearly 20 minutes with no server in sight. I had to go to the bar just to get drinks, and even after an hour at the table, no one ever came. I emailed management afterward but have yet to receive any reply. For a hotel of this caliber, both the service and follow-up were shockingly poor.
