Anantara Kihavah Maldives Villas is located on the private island of Kihavah, with the stunning ‘Golden Wall’ house reef and world-famous Hanifaru Bay nearby. The resort is located a 35-minute seaplane flight from Velana International Airport (MLE) in Malé. The resort can be reached by a seaplane transfer, available during daylight hours only at an additional cost (payable directly to the resort). Alternatively, the resort can be reached by a 30-minute speedboat transfer if guests fly into the domestic Dharavandhoo Airport (DRV), available day or night at an additional cost (payable directly to the resort). Taxes & fees:

Green tax is not included and is payable directly to the resort (US$6 per person, per night). 

Update: 11th December 2024: As per the amendments to the Tourism Act issued by the Maldivian Government, applicable to all travellers arriving in the Maldives from 1 January 2025, the green tax payable by travellers upon arrival at hotels (including tourist resorts, tourist hotels, hotels, tourist guest houses, tourist vessels) has been increased from USD 6.00 to USD 12.00 per person per day.

Update 6 December 2024, 3.15pm AEDT: Effective 1 January 2025, the Government Green Tax will double from US$6 to US$12 per person, per night.

Seaplane Transfer:

  • The resort is located a 35-minute seaplane transfer from Velana International Airport (MLE).
  • Seaplane journeys are available during daylight hours only. Guests arriving at Velana International Airport on an international flight after 3.30pm will need to book a domestic flight to Dharavandhoo Airport (DRV) and arrange a speedboat transfer.
  • Transfers have a maximum baggage allowance of 20kg per passenger. Hand luggage should not exceed 20” x 12” x 7” in size or 5kg in weight.
  • To book your transfer, please contact the resort directly at least three days prior to your arrival at reservations.maldives@anantara.com.
  • All transfer information is subject to change. Please contact the hotel directly to confirm transfer details before you depart for your escape.

Four nights at Anantara Kihavah over National Day were unforgettable. The island is gorgeous, but our villa host Naomi turned the dream into a memory we’ll replay forever. She met us on the seaplane jetty with a smile that felt like coming home and checked us into the overwater villa directly, no lobby wait. Noting it was our honeymoon, she quietly kept that in mind all week. Each morning she asked if we needed a buggy to get around the island and offered to book anything we fancied. She snagged the best table at the underwater SEA restaurant and, when she heard a birthday was tucked into the trip, surprised us with a cake delivered at sunset. When I said I needed to unwind, she booked the perfect spa treatment for me. She balanced our days so we never felt rushed, yet never missed the highlights. Leaving was hard, not for the turquoise water, but because we had to say goodbye to Naomi. You pay for the reef and the villa, but it’s people like her you remember. Thank you, we’ll be back.

Overall an amazing stay. The villas were quite nice with direct ocean access and private pool. The staff is extremely friendly. The hospitality began even before we arrived there. From the time the booking was made the team has be proactive and helpful. Shameen was our Villa guide and he was outstanding. While there I also had great conversations with Mark and Exec Chef Joachim. The underwater diner was also really cool. Quite an unforgettable experience overall. Other activities like snorkeling, dolphin cruise etc. was also done very professionally. Thank you team.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ An Exceptional Stay at Anantara Kihavah Maldives Our recent stay at Anantara Kihavah Maldives was truly exceptional and exceeded all expectations. From the moment we arrived, every detail was flawlessly taken care of by our villa host, Zidhan, whose attentiveness and professionalism made our experience seamless and memorable. He even thoughtfully curated an itinerary for our meal plans and went the extra mile to ensure we had everything we needed throughout our stay. The culinary experience was outstanding. Chef Joachim prepared exquisite meals that were both beautifully presented and full of flavor. A special appreciation to Aboo and Sukma for their warm hospitality and impeccable service, their genuine friendliness and willingness to cater to our preferences, even accommodating requests beyond the menu, made every dining experience remarkable. The snorkeling on the house reef was breathtaking, with an abundance of colorful fish, reef sharks, and rays. Our snorkeling excursions to see manta rays and nurse sharks were beyond unbelievable, truly once-in-a-lifetime experiences. The dive team was exceptional, ensuring our safety and comfort at all times while making the adventures both exciting and unforgettable. The underwater restaurant was beautiful and made an exciting delicious meal watching the marine life as we ate our meal. Every aspect of our stay from the personalized service to the world-class dining and extraordinary marine experiences reflected the resort’s commitment to excellence. We left with wonderful memories and look forward to returning to this Maldivian paradise.

Romantic, Luxurious, and Incredibly Peaceful We stayed in an overwater sunset pool villa, and the experience was nothing short of magical. The view from our villa was breathtaking — we could sit on the balcony for hours, simply watching the sun dip below the horizon in complete serenity. Anantara Kihavah is, without a doubt, the most romantic place we've ever visited. The island is so quiet and peaceful that it felt like time had stood still. From the moment we arrived at the airport to our scenic seaplane transfer and the warm welcome on the island, everything was flawlessly arranged. The service throughout our stay was impeccable — attentive without ever being intrusive. A special thank you to our villa host, Zidhan, for taking such excellent care of us and organizing everything perfectly. There truly aren’t enough stars to rate Anantara Kihavah. Though the scale only goes up to five, this resort deserves so much more. My wife and I made unforgettable memories here, and we’re already counting down the days until we return. In fact, we had already planned our next trip before we even left the island! Thank you to the entire Anantara Kihavah team for an unforgettable and truly exceptional experience. We’ll see you next year.
