It's time to join the team at Akaroa Dolphins on a stunning and intimate cruise around Akaroa Harbour, at only $35 for one adult pass. Finally, a legitimate reason to sing Lonely Island's "I'm on a boat." Or yell "I'm the king of the world!", if that's still more your scene.
Their stylish catamaran Into The Blue is stable and quiet, giving you a very special, more intimate cruise experience around Akaroa Harbour and into the secluded bays just beyond the harbour entrance. Your hosts are descended from the earliest colonists that arrived here from 1838 and youll hear intriguing stories of Maori and colonial history as they show you points of interest along the way.
Not only will you see fascinating marine life and sea birds, including rare and playful Hectors dolphins, youll be amazed at the dramatic landscapes of the extinct volcanic crater that formed Akaroa Harbour, now spectacularly sculpted over millions of years by the sea.
One of their little dolphin dogs, Murf Murf or Captain Hector, may be on board. They have an affinity with other mammals and will be the first to sense and signal to guests and crew that dolphins are close. On the return from your cruise you can visit the Akaroa Dolphins Shop and purchase a delightfully written and illustrated book all about Murf Murf the Dolphin Dog, as a memento of your visit.
Hugh & Pip Waghorn, Craig & Georgie Rhodes plus the rest of the crew are really keen to welcome you soon to their unique part of the planet.
Plus their "Into The Blue" catamaran is much better than that movie with the same name. BYO Jessica Alba though.
